In danger of extinction
| The Mountain Tapir, the Andean Condor, Black-breasted Puffleg, the Spectacle-Bear are some of the wonderful species we would love to see living in their own habitat in 20 or 50 years, unfortunately we’re not sure of their destiny. Today, some of them are critically endangered; they are just one step away from extinction. We feel, we all have a part of responsibility; some more than the others. If not looked into seriously, and if we do not change radically our way of life, we will still not save these species and of course other endangered animals or plants all over the world and we will lose all we have, we’ll lose what made us human being. |
| During this trip, you will be an active observer and learner, accompanied by animal experts (scientists, zoologists, naturalists) and you will discover the beauty and the affection of those loving animals. |

| The mountain tapir 'living fossil' |
| The MT is endemic to the Andes Mountains of north-western South America; small numbers remain in north-western Peru, Colombia and Ecuador. The population is currently estimated to number fewer than 2,500 individuals. It is smallest of four surviving species of tapir that represent the remnants of a lineage that evolved around 55 million years ago, after the demise of the dinosaurs. |

The spectacle bear suffers primarily from destruction and fragmentation of their habitat and are currently listed as vulnerable to extinction. Most of the listed species in our tour are in danger because of a lot of reasons. We hear often that the main origin of their quasi-extinction is the poachers but this NOT the first cause, far from it: the deforestation, the human constructions, the industrialization, the pollution and the agriculture are the main causes and are all interlaced. The species you will observe, and, with a bit of luck, you’ll see all the species listed in the itinerary, are the icons of our struggle today. We have to fight for their rights and the rights of all of us for a better future. Your voice is important.
